| I-69 Heads For Austin Alliance Visits Capitol, Hosts Reception HOUSTON, Members of the Alliance for I-69 Texas will spend the day in Austin
February 21 to visit with legislators and present the Alliance's agenda for the 77th session of the Texas Legislature. The commitment of the
Alliance and the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) to the timely completion of the project will also be conveyed. "It is imperative that we educate our legislators about the importance of the newest international trade corridor,"
said Helen Walker, Victoria County judge and chair, Alliance for I-69 Texas Board of Directors. "We must also demonstrate to Congress the need to
fully fund the construction of I-69 in the next authorization bill in 2003." A reception for state legislators held later in the day feature cuisine from the regions along the I-69 corridor. The Alliance for I-69 Texas is a membership-based organization created in 1994 to promote the development of I-69 in Texas.
